The Route

.

The Great Langdale Trail Run is a journey through one of the most spectacular valleys in Lakeland.  From start to finish the run passes through stunning Lakeland scenery that gets more spectacular the further you go.

.

Following the course of the Great Langdale Beck, the fully way-marked routes wind their way through pasture and woodland from the start by the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. Switching from one side of the beck to the other, each route is a mixture of gravel farm track, rocky trail, riverbank and woodland path. Leaving the riverbank behind, all three trails wind their way through one of Lakeland’s many slate quarries to the first water station.

.

Gradually descending the open fell on the beautiful flowing trails, the route then makes it’s way back down to the valley floor once more before following back with fantastic panoramic views of the Langdale Pikes to the finish.

.

Each route will be fully way-marked and signposted, with marshals opening all gates that do not have a swing gate access. First Aid marshals will be strategically positioned at potentially tricky locations and there will be a water stations positioned every 5K.

Truly wonderful routes on lovely trails with sensational views throughout.
