The Course
Tri Windermere is a fantastic journey through the heart of the Lake District, and you’re surrounded on all sides by beautiful countryside and stunning views.
.
THE SWIM:
The 1,500m open water swim for Tri Windermere is unique as we have been granted special permission to cross the centre of the lake. Beginning with a deep water start from the southern shore at Cockshott Point in Bowness, the route heads south west, to, and around Crow Holme island by the western shore and back to transition. Weather permitting the water temperature for Tri Windermere between 18°C - 20°C, and we hope we’re able to repeat sunshine in 2011.

.
THE CYCLE:
The Tri Windermere cycle follows a challenging but stunning route through some of the most fantastic scenery in The Lakes. The undulating way-marked and fully marshaled route leads out through Ambleside, Hawkshead, and Newby Bridge, before returning to transition after completing a full 43K lap of the lake. We recommend a road bike for the cycle section as it’s a technical course with a steep climb after Hawkshead.

THE RUN
After a fast transition the run heads out along the shore of Windermere before turning onto the wooded parkland of the Glebe at Bowness. Five 2k laps complete the 10k run and the 2012 Tri Windermere.
